Dwight Howard to Have Season Ending Surgery

Orlando Magic centre Dwight Howard will miss the remainder of the NBA season, playoffs and the 2012 Sumeer Olympics due to back surgery which he will undergo on Friday in Los Angeles for a herniated disk. Dwight Howard Staying with Magic

So it seems like Dwight Howard has finally made up his mind, well at least for now. Today the Orlando Magic center signed a waiver that will keep him under contract with the Magic through next season. There has been a ton of speculation and indecisiveness from Howard himself about his future with the Orlando Magic. Often going back and forth with leaving for another team or forcing the Magic to try and build a championship team around him. Now that this has come to an end, it leaves one to wonder where does this leave the New Jersey Nets. Many thought the Nets were the front runners in the Howard sweepstakes, especially since Nets PG Deron Williams publicly said that “it would help a lot if the team acquired Howard in his decision to stay with the team” after this season. Now it looks like the Nets could potentially lose Williams at seasons end to free agency in the summer. Not a good look for the Nets franchise as they’ll be moving to Brooklyn beginning next season.
